Purchasing Cheap Furniture from Students

Purchasing second hand furniture from students is sometimes a way of acquiring cheap furniture. Most college students live in a town for a few years and then move on to cities where they get a job.  Students are likely to advertise furniture for sale by word of mouth or by putting up posters on notice boards on campus or in residences. Some student furniture is either relatively new as some students only move into a digs later in their university lives, or is really old as it has been sold from one student to the next over the years.

The condition of the item and its age are likely to affect the price, but most students are often willing to come up with a price that both seller and buyer are happy with. The downside from purchasing from another student would be the transportation of the goods. Some second hand furniture stores arrange transportation at an added fee, but in the case of purchasing from another student, the individuals have to sort out the transportation arrangements themselves.
